Explanation of the filenames:

The models are all named "rsbcx_yy.bin".
- The "rsbc" portion stands for "reskinnable bookcase".
- The value of x is either 1 or 2.  1 indicates a 1x2 bookcase (narrower with 2 replaceable textures), while a value of 2 indicates a 2x2 bookcase (wider with 4 replaceable textures).
- The value of yy is a two-digit number corresponding to the original T2 family from which the object textures were derived.  There are VicM01, VicM04, VicM07, VicM09 and VicM12; the numbers on the models correspond to these numbers.  This should make it simple to match the right model with the room it's going in, based on which family you've been using for the room's brush textures.

For ArtDeco fans: I may at some point release ArtDeco versions of these models.

Usage:

Extract the contents of this .zip file into your main Thief 2 directory.
Be sure to keep folder names.

Create something similar like a bookshelf or armoire.
Change its Shape > Model name to one of the models.
Set the replaceable textures to a book texture (or whatever you want):
Add the Shape > TxtRepl r0-3 properties and set to the full path of the texture.
See the preview mission for examples.


"So Yandros, what's available to use for the book textures?"

1. The included family DGBooks are original textures (c)1998-2004 by Dave Gurrea.
Please credit him if you include or use his textures in your FM.  The bookcases in the preview mission use these textures.

2. Also included are two new textures based on the case3.pcx texture from the DEDx family RamirezX (just a port of the Ramirez textures from T1).  They are the top and bottom portions of the case3.pcx texture separated into new textures.

3. Original (T2) book textures you could also use:
fam\rescor_1\books01a, fam\rescor_1\books02a
fam\keeper\kbookcas, fam\keeper\kbookca3 (cobwebs might look out of place though)

Tip: Any texture from \fam which you replace on an object needs to be used on a brush SOMEWHERE in your mission - a blueroom wall, for example.  Otherwise, it will appear miscolored on the object, and you'll also get Locked Resource errors frequently.  In the Preview mission, you'll notice the seven DGBooks textures are painted on the faces of a hexagonal cylinder off to the left of the main room for this reason.
